Both silent and live auctions will be offered at the 2012 Silky Terrier Club of America National Specialty.  

Silent Auctions



There will be Silent Auctions held throughout the week with new and different items each day.  The final daily silent auction will conclude at our Annual Awards Dinner on Friday evening June 7, 2013.  You’ll have plenty of time to peruse, strategize, and ensure you beat out some tough competition on the bevy of delightful auction items.

Basket Auction Competition

 

Assemble your teams, come up with a theme, let your creativity and generosity flow as you develop your Baskets for the Basket Auction Competition!

All baskets must be available for bidding beginning on Wednesday, June 5, 2013 and will remain out and on display in the Grand Ballroom through the conclusion of the Live Auction on Thursday, June 6, 2013.  This will allow for the last minute bidding on the Auction Baskets. 

Each Auction Basket will have a tent card in front of it with the name of the basket (name of the theme) prominently displayed.  All Baskets will have a form where each of the items contained in the basket can be listed along with estimated retail value of each item and a total in order to state value during introduction.  (This will also help increase bidding by creating value.)  Additionally, there will be a list of the names of donors or group offering the Auction Basket along with a description of the basket that can be read as an introduction for the Basket at the Live Auction.  The basket donors will have the option of introducing their own basket by providing details of the content or inspiration for the theme.  If the donor(s) choose not to personally introduce the basket the written description can be read by the Emcee.

As each Awards Dinner Attendees arrives they will be given 4 tickets, one each for the following categories:  Best in Show (Best Overall), Group One (Most Original), Best of Breed (Best Item Content), and Award of Merit (Most Beautiful/Artistic).  Attendees can place their votes up until the conclusion of the Basket Auction.

Baskets will be stored in the hospitality room or storage room and locked up each night.

The Live Auction will begin at 6:00 PM along with cocktail hour.  We will announce that the final bidding on the Basket Auction will conclude at the end of the Live Auction.  The votes will be tabulated to identify winners in each category.  The winners will be announced and given their awards at the Award Dinner.
